second week....second reflection :) :)
Wow!!! Mind Blowing!!
Classes thus far have been extremely insightful and very useful for me to use in the classroom.
Class on Tuesday was challenging but it got me out of my seat and gave me the ability to stretch my mind beyond ways that I could have ever imagined. there were many things about this class which was very useful for me, mainly the use of the content and how it was displayed in the classroom.
Learning about questioning and how to fully explain diagrams was a little difficult for me at first but I learned that gradually with practice explaining diagrams and phrasing questions are not as difficult.
The diagram above shows many things all of which was not understood by me but after hearing all the different explanation i was more clear about it.
Along with my group members, we learned the importance of questioning and how useful it is in the classroom and as well as the value of teamwork and collaboration. The team building exercises were very exciting as well in the classroom.
The class was very fun Tuesday and I am looking forward to more classes like this.

Thanks for your interesting post Rebecca. This will be the first one that I mark using the rubric for this assignment. Please remember to use the rubric as a guide for your writing.
ReplyDeleteI was pleased to see that you picked up on my extensive use of questioning in this class. Questioning is a key teaching strategy that needs to be deliberately planned and executed. So here are a few questions to help you enhance the quality of this post.
1. How do you feel when you are questioned?
2. What challenges do you experience when asking or answering questions?
3. How do you intend to use questioning as a strategy in your own classroom?
I am looking forward to your replies.
Hi miss!!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter being asked questions multiple times in the classroom I have become comfortable answering the questions even if my answers are not fully explained,I do still have confidence in answering any question posed to me in class.
Previously during Practicum I had encountered with many problems in forming questions to ask my students, but due to much practice and persistence i have bypassed this issue and is currently able to ask and answer questions to and from my students.
Questioning as a strategy is very important in the classroom and requires much focus, for this I will continue to put forward all of my effort for the benefit of my students.
Hi Becca, I absolutely love the phrase you used "gave me the ability to stretch my mind beyond ways that I could have ever imagined". I truly believe the classroom is a place in which the mind must be stretched, otherwise what is the sense in coming to class if nothing was challenging or new? I hope we can all be able to stretch the minds of our future students in ways that would make them excited to keep on learning.
ReplyDeleteYes, Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteI will absolutely agree with GhanyGeo
Thank you!! I hope geography class is always like this.
