THIS CLASS WAS VERY FULFILLING !!!!!!

 

TODAY WE TALKED ABOUT FLOODING, HURRICANES, HURRICANES, TORNADO, DAY OF A STORM FLOODING, SYNOPTIC CHART INTERPRETATION , CARIBBEAN WEATHER SYSTEMS, TYPES OF CLOUDS,  WE DID VIDEOS , AND THE EVER SO FUN AN INSPIRATIONAL SONG BY DAVID RUNNER WHERE HE SUNG ABOUT HUGO.

TODAY WAS VERY IMPORTANT CLASS AS IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE LAST CLASS BUT VERY HAPPILY WE DO HAVE ANOTHER CLASS NEXT WEEK WHEN WE HAVE TO DO OUR OH SO EXCITED AND OH SO LOVELY PRESENTATIONS ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE, VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS!!!

FIRSTLY THE BROCHURE IN WHICH DR.BABB HAD DISTRIBUTED WAS VERY USEFUL TO US IN MANY WAYS, I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR THESE AS IT WOULD HELP US IN OUR TEACHING.

WE HAD ALSO DONE  A SYNOPTIC CHART INTERPRETATION WHICH WAS DIFFICULT BUT IT MADE ME UNDERSTAND IT EVEN MORE AS FROM PREVIOUS SESSIONS AS WELL AS ITS IMPORTANCE. 

BEFORE THE SYNOPTIC CHART WE HAD DONE A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STORM AND ITS FORMATION, WELLLLLLLLLLLLL THIS WAS SO FUNNNN FOR ME EH!!!!

I TOTALLY LOVE CLASSICAL MUSIC AND IN THE BACKGROUND OF THE VIDEO THIS CLASSICAL MUSIC WAS VERY NICE!! THIS IS AN AMAZING STRATEGY FOR TEACHERS TO USE IN THE CLASSROOM.

WE ALSO FOCUSED ON CARIBBEAN WEATHER SYSTEMS AND THE USEFULLNESS OF DISASTER PREPAREDNESS.

THIS CLASS WAS EXTREMELY FUN!

THIS CLASS WAS ONE OF THE BEST YET!!!!!!!

OMY THIS CLASS WAS ONE OF THE BEST YET!!!!!

TODAY IN CLASS WE HAD SO MUCH FUN DOING OUR PRESENTATIONS AND  MY GROUP MEMBERS AN I REALLY FOCUSED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF TEAMWORK AND PERFECTION FOR OUR WORKING MODEL.  THIS WAS SO ENCOURAGING TO FINISH UP THE SCHOOL YEAR WITH WONDERFUL GROUP MEMBERS AND TO KNOW THAT THIS WAS THE BEST YET, I WAS REALLY ENCOURAGED TO TRY MORE AND DO THE BEST I COULD HAVE DONE............... JUST REFLECTING

.

TODAY ALSO WE WERE GRADED AND WE PRESENTED ON OUR WORKING MODEL WHICH WAS OUR "MY HANDY WEATHER BOOK". THIS BOOK WAS DONE WITH CONSCIENTIOUS DECISIONS MADE BY EACH GROUP MEMBER WHERE WE ALL WORKED TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS MODEL AND PRESENTED AND WAS GRADED VERY WELL.

OUR PRESENTATION WAS DONE EXTREMELY WELL AND EACH OTHER PRESENTATION I LEARNED SOMETHING IMPORTANT FROM IT I WAS ALSO VERY PROUD OF EACH OF MY PEERS HOW THEY PRESENTED WELL AND DID THEIR BEST IN THEIR PRESENTATIONS.

I ALSO LEARNED MANY THINGS ABOUT MY PRESENTATION SKILLS AND WAS ABLE TO BUILD UPON IT, EVEN THOUGH WE ARE TIRED AND FRUSTRATED WE WERE ABLE TO THE BEST WE COULD HAVE DONE. AFTER THE PRESENTATIONS WE WERE EVALUATED BY EACH GROUP AND WE EVALUATED EACH GROUP WITH THE RUBRIC, THIS WAS DONE TO ESPECIALLY SHOWCASE OUR WORKING MODEL AND GET THE DIFFERENT GROUP PERSPECTIVES. 

WE ALSO HAD DONE OUR PEER ASSESSMENTS THIS WAS VERY GOOD BECAUSE AND AGAIN I CAN SAY "BEST GROUP EVER".

LASTLY ONE OF MY CLASSMATES INSISTED ON US HAVING A GIFT EXCHANGE FOR THE CLASS SINCE SADLY THIS WOULD BE OUR LAST CLASS TOGETHER !!

VERY HEARTBREAKING TO KNOW THIS. 

I THOUGHT THIS IDEA WAS VERY NICE IN THAT WE WOULD FINISH THE SEMESTER ON A GOOD NOTE.

PRACTICUM WEEK THREE

:( Sadly Practicum had to come to an end!!

But luckily we get to have back classes!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This last week of Practicum has helped me more reflective in every lesson I am doing as well as everything I am doing. My boys this week have been a true inspiration to me especially my form ones and threes they gave me so much joy and I also felt a little sad while leaving. 

This practicum week also I had finished my teaching my lessons on Friday and was very enthusiastic about doing each lesson. This week also my peers and I helped each other in doing many things and Just re-emphasizing peer relationships are very important. This week was also important as well as I took my constructive criticism and applied to the best of my ability, I do believe that this is important for all students as they grow in their practicum and in every other area.

Very happy with the experience in Naparima Boys and very thankful for this teaching time.......

WAIT !!! I think I forgot my AHA moment this week, I realized that and this is my favorite thing to say now "YOU MAY BE PHYSICALLY TIRED BUT YOU ARE STILL MENTALLY STRONG"

This was a major stepping stone for in my thought and I loved this....

This week was awesome and looking forward to my last practicum, and graduating, and missing my friends and everything else about teaching because I AM A TEACHER AND THERE IS NO ONE WHO CAN SAY OTHERWISE AND I WILL CHERISH MY EXPERIENCES IN UTT AND WITH MY FRIENDS EVERYDAY !!!

PRACTICUM WEEK TWO

This week has been really hectic, still thankful for the experience but time management is a serious issue with me as well and proper preparation of lessons and resources.

   

               

Naparima Boys has many activities and engages their students in many of them, this was very eye-opening to me as I thought the school focused on work, work, and more work, but they take many opportunities to engage their students in different activities which is excellent in terms of engagement.

                                     

This week was a week where I was seen Twice by Dr.Rocke and I improved the second time, I was extremely, grateful and happy that Dr.Rocke gave me such wonderful feedback and I am very appreciative of her words to be, this constructive criticism was very good and I will take this opportunity to grow and make adjustments to my lesson. I was also seen my Ms.Charles and she pointed out the importance of content and phrasing definitions in the lesson, this was also helpful.

 I had wonderful experiences this week where one of my students told miss "I hope you do well", this was very comforting to me as my students as I have developed a real relationship and can communicate on a greater level.

This week of Practicum ended up being eye-opening and helpful to me in few areas.

PRACTICUM WEEK ONE

The first week of practicum, what an enjoyable experience!!! PROUD TO BE TEACHING AT NAPS!!!

So every day I am teaching different lessons and at first, it was very overwhelming but gradually I am getting used to the idea of being a teacher, have major amounts of work and helping your students to the best of their abilities.

This experience was mind opening for me in terms of time management and being focused on the lesson in the classroom.
My students, I had taught this week was very excited about the topics I chose which collaborated with the scheme of the subject. 
I managed many activities this week lesson plans, resources, classes and enquiring students, all of which was done in a timely manner. 


One major thing I had a problem with this week involved the multimedia set inductions, this was a little challenging for as it was not capable to show multimedia in each classroom.

Other than those reasons Practicum week one was fun and all the teachers and students at Naparima Boys was eventfully enlightening.

GEOG 12/10/17

CLASS WAS MOST INTRIGUING AND INTERESTING TODAY!!!!

TODAY WE HAD A WONDERFUL VISIT FROM MS.ALI FROM THE MET OFFICE, THIS WAS MOST ENJOYABLE AS SHE SHOWED US MANY DIFFERENT THINGS AS ASSOCIATED WITH WEATHER PATTERN, SYMBOLS OF WEATHER, RAINFALL AND MUCH MORE.

THIS CLASS WAS SO ENTERTAINING AS SHE TOOK THE TIME TO HELP US UNDERSTAND THE VARIOUS THINGS LEARNT WHEN PREDICTING THE WEATHER AND ALSO TO MY KNOWLEDGE I LEARNED THAT THE MANY PEOPLE ON THE TELEVISION DO NOTHING POINT AND LOOK, I HAD WITNESSED IT THUS EVALUATING WHAT THEY REALLY DO. THE USE OF DOING AND LEARNING ABOUT SYNOPTIC CHARTS WAS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR US IN TERMS OF TEACHING OUR STUDENTS.
WHEN WE LEARNT ABOUT WINDS WE HAD LEARNT VERY MUCH AS IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT TO PREDICT AND LEARN ABOUT WINDS.
I LEARNED MANY NEW TERMS AS A TROUGH, CERTAIN THINGS I DID NOT KNOW AND WOULD HELP STUDENTS TO LEARN OF IN TIME TO COME.

THE USE OF THE MAPS MADE EM UNDERSTAND FULLY THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PEOPLES DIFFERENT JOBS AT THE MET OFFICE, THEY MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE ONE OF WHICH I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE ONE DAY AS WELL.

THIS VISIT WAS ALSO  INTERESTING TO ME BECAUSE AS WE VISITED A FIRSTS 0STATION WHILE GOING TO THE MET OFFICE, I SAW ONE OF GREAT LOVES "THE COMPUTER", THIS STATION WAS FULL OF THEM SO I DECIDED TO ENQUIRE OF THE JOB REQUIREMENTS TO WORK THERE. THIS EXCITED ME EVEN MORE AS I WAS TRULY  PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS. MS ALI TRULY HELPED ME UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS JOB AND MUCH MORE.

THIS CLASS WAS MOST INTERESTING AND WAS OF VALUED IMPORTANCE.

SO MUCH MORE WORK........................................ 

WOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WINDS!!

So today's class was very interesting to me as it displayed few things I would have experienced in secondary school such as a test before class actually started, this jogged my memory of topics learned before, it actually taught me what areas I had lacked in.

We did rules as associated with air movements, which was fun at first but later on in the class we were required to mimic a movement which can be useful to our students in the classroom, this was not fulfilled by both I and some other members of my class, unfortunately we were granted another opportunity to display it at next week's class. I do believe other activities will be useful in the classroom as well.  Along with this activity, we had viewed the Coriolis effect and the tri-cellular model of atmospheric circulation, while watching the videos, to my surprise videos are very useful to my knowledge but the recollection of information is far much more useful. 

Lastly, my group members and I worked extremely well on the last assignment for the class, I truly appreciate them and working with them is the best thing in both of my geography courses. We presented on special winds, both anabatic and katabatic mountainous wind, these were easy to obtain information for and we worked extremely well together as a group.

This class was very useful in terms of research and understanding.
